The Eagles Special Teams which had a lot to do with the Birds finishing 10-6 last year, saved the Eagles season today with two touchdowns for the Birds.
Backup linebacker Najee Goode returned a punt that was blocked by Chris Maragos, 24 yards for a touchdown. Eagles Pro Bowl punt returner Darren Sproles returned a punt for a touchdown and the blockers should be given a lot of credit because he only made one or two tacklers miss and one of them was the punter.
Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins had a great game and made one of the most important plays of the game when he picked off a deflected Tom Brady pass and ran it 100 yards for a touchdown.
It’s going to be interesting to see how much DeMarco Murray plays the rest of the season. Yes, I’m sure he’s still going to be the team’s starting running back, but how many carries will he get. Today, he ran the football only eight times for only 24 yards. Sproles ran the football 15 times for 66 yards.
Eagles QB Sam Bradford was 14-24 for 120 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions. It amazing how important turnovers are think the Eagles have a great chance to make the playoffs now after this win, but they’ve got to start acting like a good football team. A team that didn’t think they had any chance of winning this game against the Patriots will get ridiculous in celebrating the win, but jumping all over the place.
The Giants lost earlier today and the Redskins could lose tomorrow night to the Cowboys. If the Eagles could win at least three of their remaining four games, they might be able to make the playoffs. They could make the playoffs with a 8-8 record. In fact they could make the playoffs with a 7-9 record.
They really do have a chance to make the playoffs because the NFC East is horrible and the Redskins could easily lose some of their games.
“PLAYOFFS” in my best Jim Mora impersonation
The Skins will lose at least two or possibly three games away. They are horrible outside FED EX field
