He said he knows the Giants are trying to get back on the winning side after two losses.

McNabb said he's not going to predict whether Brian Westbrook will play or not.  He said if Westbrook doesn't play it won't change the way he prepares himself to play.

He said he wouldn't make any excuses to blame the offensive problems on the offensive line.  I'll blame it on them.

McNabb said he would have liked to have some of his throws back against the Skins but he said he must give the Skins some of the credit.

Teams are starting to focus on taking away Jason Avant.

He says they want to do a better job of converting third downs.  They need to convert about 45% of the third downs to get the offense back in line.

McNabb at practice today McNabb says the Giants are ranked number one in the league defensively, so moving the ball against them will be difficult.

They need to stay out of too many third and long situations.

McNabb admitted to missing throws the last couple of weeks.  He said he has been rushing his throws, aiming the football and not setting his feet properly.

Baldinger had an interesting thing on McNabb this morning on WIP talking about how his inaccurate throw mostly come out of the shotgun. Because he's already dropped back and doesn't need to take to many steps, he get's out of the mechanics and gets "lazy" with his feet. Whereas taking right from under center and taking a 3 step drop he's in a better rhythm with his feet and those plays are usually the most accurate. That seems on point to me as well. McNabb def has to stick to proper mechanics because he can go great throws to very poor ones instantly. He's going to take a lot of snaps at shotgun because the o-line isn't that good right now. It's still pretty early. We know how this team are always late bloomers when getting everything together. If we can make it through the first 8 games at 6-2 and in first place, I'll feel pretty good especially when december is our strong month.

I always find he throws at the feet when he rolls right and throws short because his arm is strong enough that he doesn't have to reset. When he's throwing the long ball, he has to reset and he's generally pretty accurate on those (Raiders game notwithstanding ).

I'm still surprised that they haven't used the screen nearly as often as they did in prior years, if only to keep the pass rush honest.
