Rams Spagnuolo Speaks Glowingly About Michael Vick

Stltoday.com has an article up which tells that yesterday Rams head coach and former Eagles defensive coach Steve Spagnuolo surprised everybody by talking publicly about Vick.

I’ve got a lot of respect for Michael as a player,” Spags said. “Everything I’ve heard out of Philadelphia is kind of good. We haven’t gone down that road in our process yet. I think he’s a terrific player.”

He went on to talk about the teams quarterback situation.

"I tell you what, good bad or indifferent, nobody wants to go through a season and play three quarterbacks," Spagnuolo said. "But the way I look at it is we know a lot about our three quarterbacks. Kyle is a free agent, but I think Kyle is a pretty good football player. We found out a lot about Keith Null, and we certainly know a lot about Marc. Now, unfortunately, he got hurt. ... We have some options at quarterback."

The fact that Spagnuolo and offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur have a relationship with Andy Reid and his staff, so chances are that he will be able to get quite a bit of information about Vick.

I believe the relationships between these coaches will allow them to talk without the information leaking to the media.

Marc Bulger, Kyle Boller and Keith Null are the top two quarterbacks who have been playing for the Rams.

If Eagles can trade Vick to the Rams for their 3rd Rd Pick (which is the #65 Overall), this would be a very good deal for both squads.
If they trade Vick for their 4th Rd Pick (which would be about the #97 overall pick or so) this would be a great move for the Rams and so-so for the Eagles.
Eagles really need to get a draft pick in retrun somewhere in the Top #75 selections which would be by the middle of the 3rd Round
Anything from a 4th Rd pick on in return for Vick and the Eagles would be just about giving him away...

What was the Michael Vick experiment in Philadelphia all about? Was it worth carrying him last year, dealing with all the craziness, only to get a fourth or fifth round choice this year?

'was it worth...' - what was the downside to having him on the team? Yeah, the season ended with disappointment, but I don't think there's a single person out there that thinks the Eagles lost in the playoffs because we had Mike Vick on the team!? It couldn't have been losing our 2 top MLBs, Dawk, JJ, Westy's health, J. Jackson!?

I throw in McNabb, Vick,WestBrook and R. Brown for thier first ,I know they won't do it , I even trade Reid for Spagnuola if it could be done ,at least I would know the defense would be better !

How about Vick,R Brown and the Eagles 3rd Round Draft pick for the Rams #2 Rd and #3rd Round picks.
(remember that the Rams have 1st selection in every Round)
This would come out that the Eagles would get the #33rd and #65th overall draft selections for giving up Vick/Brown and a #82nd pick
A good deal for both teams I think...

G, you read into football. That's why I always enjoyed calling your show in the 90s. Why aren't you on the NFL Network?
