The Philadelphia Flyers have traded forward Harry Zolnierczyk to the Anaheim Ducks for “defenseman” Jay Rosehill. The quotes are there because Rosehill is used primarily as an enforcer.
Zolnierczyk was recalled to the Flyers recently to finish serving a four-game suspension earned for a head hit against Mike Lundin of the Ottawa Senators. He has been [...]

The Philadelphia Flyers gained an invaluable two points in Saturday’s 2-1 win against the Ottawa Senators as they continue to fight for playoff positioning in the standings.
As a result of a reckless check from forward Harry Zolnierczyk in the first period of that game, though, the team will be without his services for at least four [...]

One omission from the Flyers-Maple Leafs game recap is that Sean Couturier was a late scratch for the game. He participated in face-off drills in the morning practice, but was sent back to Philadelphia as the day continued to cope with a bout of the flu.
In his absence, Tom Sestito returned to the line-up. He [...]

Another piece of the offseason puzzle fell into place this morning as Renaud Lavoie of RDS reported that Harry Zolnierczyk has signed a one year, two way contract with the Philadelphia Flyers worth $600K.
Zolnierczyk registered three goals and six points in 37 games played, along with a +/- of -11 and average time on ice of 7:42. [...]

With the 2012 NHL Entry Draft four days away and free agency looming soon after, there have been a variety of news stories reported today regarding the Philadelphia Flyers. For the sake of brevity, I’ve hit many of the major points below.
According to Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Flyers have extended qualifying offers [...]

The Adirondack Phantoms’ 2011-12 AHL season ended before their final game of the year, as they were eliminated from contention when the Manchester Monarchs beat the Hershey Bears (who couldn’t win when we needed them to, apparently) last Saturday. As such, the Phantoms announced today that nine players had been recalled by the Flyers as part [...]

At the 11:15 mark of the first period between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Philadelphia Flyers, Zac Rinaldo followed defenseman Zbynek Michalek behind the Penguins’ net and delivered a forceful check into the boards.
Depending on who you talk to, it was either a clean hit or one deserving of a minor penalty.
The officials saw it [...]

The Adirondack Phantoms announced this afternoon that Harry Zolnierczyk has once again been recalled by the Flyers. I’m not even going to attempt to surmise how this falls under the Flyers’ recall/emergency conditions, as it was pointed out by others that it’s a rule with no clear definition from the NHL (and also, that I was [...]

The Flyers announced today that they have recalled not one, but two Adirondack Phantoms for tonight’s game against the Florida Panthers.
With Jaromir Jagr as a game-time decision and Jake Voracek officially “day-to-day” at this point, Harry Zolnierczyk will likely be in the line-up. Jody Shelley will be the 12th forward if necessary.
The other call-up is [...]

The Flyers announced and CSNPhilly reported today that they would be loaning Harry Zolnierczyk to the Adirondack Phantoms. There was no indication whether this would be just a weekend stint to give him playing time or if they expected to have him back soon, but with Tom Sestito still in the line-up and Danny Briere back [...]
