Are the Sixers close to a head coach yet? I would hope so. Jeff Hornacek was just hired by the Suns. The Bobcats hired Lakers assistant Steve Clifford and the Bucks are closing in on a new candidate.
The next head coach should give us an idea of what direction the Sixers are heading in. If [...]

I have been saying it to my buddies, even to my co-workers. Before the Sixers name a Head Coach, they needed a decision maker in the worst way. The Sixers needed a GM. DiLeo was brought in to be Doug’s “Yes Man”. Plain and Simple. My cry was heard ..
Adam Wojnarowski of Yahoo! reports:
The Philadelphia 76ers have [...]

The first of many moves (I would think and hope so) for the Sixers started with Collins “officially” resigning as the Sixers coach. I figure to give Sixers fans (if there is any still left besides a handful of us) some of the better quotes from the presser. Let’s begin…
Collins on when he knew he was “out” [...]

I have been trying to think of what to call this season. I could call it the season from hell. That sounds pretty good. Nah, get more creative Joe. How about the “Era of Bynum”, version TWO? I can save that one for another day. I know, “The Season That Never Was”. Man, that headline makes me [...]

It doesn’t sound like Sixers’ head coach Doug Collins is long for Philadelphia.
According the Philadelphia Inquirer, although the team has publicly voiced support for Collins, behind closed doors they hope that he’ll voluntarily step aside at the end of the season.
Its been a rough year for the Sixers. Everything that could have gone wrong in [...]

The Philadelphia 76ers just released a statement about the surgery which center Andrew Bynum underwent bilateral arthroscopic surgery on Tuesday. They let us know that the procedure was done by Dr. David Altchek with the Hospital for Special Surgery.
Bynum whom 76ers head coach Doug Collins asked fans to pray for the other day, will start [...]

The Philadelphia 76ers lost their second straight game on Tuesday night, falling to the Boston Celtics at the Wells Fargo Center. The loss drops the Sixers to 23-36 on the season.
The Sixers were up for this game, but Boston’s talent was just too much for them to handle. Doug Collins’ unit played the Celtics pretty [...]

The Philadelphia 76ers snapped their seven-game losing streak on Saturday night, defeating the Golden State Warriors at the Wells Fargo Center.
The Sixers came out of the gates with the sloppy, unfocused play that they’ve shown for the majority of the season. The team committed eight turnovers and allowed Golden State to put up 31 in [...]

The Philadelphia 76ers lost their fifth straight game on Thursday night, falling to the Bulls 93-82 in Chicago. The loss drops their record to 22-34 on the season.
Although tonight’s game was fairly close throughout the game, I wouldn’t say that the Sixers played all that well. Sure, they were much better tonight then they were [...]

The day Tony DiLeo was given the general manager’s title, we all knew it really meant that Doug Collins was hired as the GM. There were rumors of Rod Thorn and Collins having a power struggle during last year’s offseason. I am not sure if Collins was the reason for Thorn stepping down, but I guarantee that Doug helped push Thorn [...]
