I was concerned about Eagles defensive end Trent Cole before the training camp because I didn’t see a place where he fit into the Eagles future plans. Cole is very strong for his size, but he’s a 4-3 defensive end, not a linebacker and he’s not a 3-4 defensive end.
“We’re trying different things,” Cole said [...]

With the Eagles making the transition to a 3-4 defense, they’ve got a number of players leftover from their 4-3 scheme that could have some trade value elsewhere. Right now the Eagles have too many 4-3 defensive ends. Trent Cole, Brandon Graham, Vinny Curry, and Phillip Hunt are all still on the roster, but it [...]

Eagles wide receiver Jason Avant was brutely honest and the Eagles were humiliated by the Giants 42-7 in the final game of the Andy Reid era and the 2012 season.
“I’m not a GM, so I don’t know (what will happen),” Avant said to PhiladelphiaEagles.com. “But one thing I do know is that we need guys [...]

Highs And Lows For Bryce Brown
It was the best and the worst of times for rookie running back Bryce Brown.
Brown made his first career start tonight. He enjoyed a career night, running for 178 yards and two touchdowns. On a night where top receiver DeSean Jackson left the game with a first quarter injury, Brown [...]

Eagles’ GM Howie Roseman considers the practice squad as part of his available roster in case somebody gets injured during the season. The GM and the Birds seem to be taking some serious risks with their roster by going to battle heavy with six defensive ends and four running backs.
The Birds are very strong at [...]

There are still quite a few position battles going on for the Eagles, but here’s how I see the 53-man roster. It’s sure to change because GM Howie Roseman is big on grabbing talent from the waiver wire.
Quarterbacks (3) – Michael Vick, Mike Kafka, Nick Foles
Michael Vick will benefit when the Eagles start game planning [...]

This could be a very good rookie class for the Birds. They’v got a number of these rookies who are likely to make contributions to this football team this year.
Fletcher Cox – He didn’t dominate consistently at training camp, but he still shows potential that are off the charts. I’ve seen him dominate in the [...]

The Eagles impressed Thursday night as they won their first preseason game in walk-off fashion.
However, the people you expected to impress; Nnamdi Asomugha, Michael Vick, DeSean Jackson, and LeSean McCoy were non-existent in Thursday’s game. It was the backups and rookies that showed up and got this team their first win of the 2012 season.
Neptune [...]

In the coming weeks, Andy Reid will need to make a decision about who his primary backup quarterback will be.
Mike Kafka, the early favorite for the job was brutal in his first action of the preseason. The third-year quarterback completed five of nine passes for 31 yards, and made [...]

The Eagles continued their decade-old tradition of hosting the military at training camp. Former Air Force wide receiver Chad Hall had his head shaved to raise money for the Wounded Warriors Project. The program raises money to help veterans, who were injured in battle.
“I’m just trying to really take our minds off us and really [...]
