You and I both heard and read that the dogs found in the home owned by Michael Vick were emaciated and malnourished, but the prosecutor in the case says the dogs were well cared for in an article titled, "Prosecutor: Dogs Not Abused" .
With this statement by the prosector, why doesn't the media slow up Vick's public conviction? Yes the prosecutor on the case, who should know, says the dogs were well cared for. It seems that the evil going on here, may or may not be Michael Vick, but the people covering Vick are doing some evil. I don't know Vick but you would think there had been pictures and videos of him watching and orchestrating dogfights by now. I have to back off of him after reading a story about the prosecutor saying they don't have any evidence. Media guys are after the money so much so that, they won't let the evidence and facts in the case get in the way. I know that portraying him as evil personified makes for good content on television, radio and in the newspapers, but to disregard the evidence coming out because you're trying to make a buck, is wrong.
Whatever you think of Michael Vick, how could a group of honest sports reporters be on ESPN this morning still talking about him being guilty and how he's such a bad guy. ESPN even showed footage of dogs fighting while they were talking about the Vick case. They don't put a chyron saying "file footage" to let people know these aren't the dogs involved in the Vick case.
It seems to me that if the dogs were well cared for, then how could there be any real organized dogfighting going on at the house. On top of that they said they found blood, "specks of blood" what a joke. I have no problem rounding up players and blasting them when it's appropiate but I'm not going to be a part of character assassination. The prosecutor also said that the future of the dogs is uncertain, even though I had heard and read that they were going to be put to sleep. The coverage of the case has been awful
Professional athletes are constantly called out of being egotistical maniacs, you can say the same thing for thet Sports Reporters today on ESPN which consisted of Mitch Albom, Bob Saunders, Bob Ryan and Mike Lupica. They took their shots at Vick without at least mentioning that the prosecutor says the dogs which were found at Vick's house were treated well. I'm tired of this sloppy reporting so I'm calling these guys out or anybody else who just wants to demonize people regardless of the facts. I hear media members crying because the public has a low regard for the media. They should shut up.
I just read an article about an informant that ESPN talked to who says Michael Vick was a heavyweight in the dogfighting ring. We'll see whether this results in anything. I'm willing to keep an open mind and nail Vick to the wall if he's found guilty, but I'm not going to get him just because he's got a hundred million dollar contract.
I just saw the piece by ESPN about Michael Vick and I'm going to keep an open mind but you can see that it doesn't look good for him based on what this informant says. But who is this informant? Informants are known to like to throw around big names because that's what can help them get a good deal. I listened to his testimony and he gives very little details about Michael Vick being involved in the dogfighting. He doesn't say whether Vick was there at the match or not. Vick's cousin could be the bad guy and could be out using his famous cousin's name.
It's amazing that ESPN is out ahead of the prosecutor. Why is it that they have been able to go out and get assess to an FBI informant in this case with Vick? Every sports columnists or sports talker in the nation can go after Vick for months and years before the evidence comes out.
I don't like the way ESPN is using video of dogfighting to link it to Michael Vick. With that video, anybody would be disgusted at Vick because dogfighting is so cruel and the videos brutal. Those videos will have an affect on anyone but they don't have anything to do with Michael Vick. The dogs found at Michael Vick's place were well cared for. They don't bother mentioning that because it gets in the way of the story. Why were the dogs found at Vick's place well cared for? I don't say that in defense of Vick, I say that as a key question that should be answered before we verbally cut him up.
