Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb appeared on the Morning show on 610-WIP and answered a lot of questions. He said he doesn't have any rift with the Eagles football team,
despite holding a news conference on his own in South Jersey prior to the team's first mini camp.
McNabb says he feels he's been treated fairly by the local sports media. He didn't says the same about the morning show and only said he doesn't normally have the show on in the morning.
Donovan said he is making it a point to try and let more people get to know him because he saw with Allen Iverson that it seemed people appreciated him more when he was gone than when he was here.
McNabb said that everybody made more out of what his Mom said than they should have. He says she was just a Mom talking and sharing here feelings. He also said that she wasn't speaking for him.
He still denies that he threw up in the Super Bowl. He says there was confusion in the huddle and on the sideline about which plays Terrell Owens was going to be in the lineup for and which ones he was going to be on the sideline.
McNabb says he has no problem sharing the spotlight with do-it-all running back Brian Westbrook. Donovan said Westbrook has earned his way into the spotlight by carrying the load of the offense down the stretch last season. The quarterback talked about how Brian's durability was questioned early in his career but that BWest has stepped up whenever his number has been called.
Donovan says he won't change his leadership style and try to be the same type of leader like Jeff Garcia was a year ago. McNabb says he believes in leading by example as opposed to being noisy.
