Training Camp And Cornerback 6/8/07

From Mrs. Wag To G. Cobb,

G!!-long time listener on 610 and your one of my favorite on air guys. Question??Im thinking about riding up to training camp this year mainly because I'm pretty excited about the upcoming season.

With so many guys coming back from injury and guys fighting for jobs, when is a good time to take that trip to lehigh? I was gonna go up on the July 27th, is that too early to catch some good workouts or should i wait until after the 30th when all of the vets are there? Also do you think a few vets might come in early? (im really leaning towards the first day of camp)

I would say come up the second or third day because all of the veteran guys who were hurt will be there early. If you wait it's going to be a zoo up there.  Unfortunately, just about every day will be extremely crowded because they're only going to be there two weeks.

From Mike to G,

I don't trust the depth at CB, especially given William James' injury history and the loss of Rod Hood. Samuel seems content on not playing for the Pats this year so do you think the Eagles would have any interest? It seems to me that for a contending team, corner isn't a position that you want to be thin at. Just a thought…..your thoughts?

I don't think there's any chance Samuel would wind up with the Eagles.  First of all the Pats aren't going to let him go and secondly the Eagles like their situation at cornerback.  Anybody would have interest in Samuel because he's a great player but the Birds know they would have to give up too much to get him.

It's true James has had some injury problems but he looks healthy now and he's played great in the camps.
