I was in line at 7am this morning at the inspection station in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. You have to have your car inspected every couple of years in New Jersey. I was through in less than 20 minutes. I can hardly believe it. It's nothing short of a miracle. If you haven't been to one of these stations, then you can't appreciate the miracle.
Ryan Howard was the MLB MVP last year but he got very little support from Phillies fans in the voting for the All-Star team this year. I know he hasn't hitting the ball the way he did a year ago, but I think the local fans could have done a much better job of voting for Howard. Is there something about Ryan Howard that local baseball fans don't like? Is he a victim of the McNabb family syndrome? It seems there's something lacking. I noticed that ESPN was making more out of Howard not making the All-Star team than the local sports media. It's something worth following. Ryan will be in San Francisco trying to defend his home run derby title.
A.I. Goes Back To Court
A.I. was in court in D.C. yesterday attempting to defend himself from a lawsuit by two guys who say Iverson's security team roughed them up at a Washington club in 2005 . Iverson missed most of the trial eventhough he could lose millions of dollars. For all of those he say A.I. has changed, I disagree.
Worst Sports Month Of The Year?
John Feinstein of the New York Post says the month of July is the worst sports month of the year . He says the MLB All-Star game is a joke. Plus he says NFL training camp openings are little fun. Around here I know a lot of people would disagree with him.
Alex Rodriguez' Wife Is Out Of Line
Most of the time I don't think wives and moms should be brought into the line of fire, but Alex Rodriguez' wife decides to go to a game with the words F— You on the back of her shirt . I know she might feel that way about people digging into her private life but you can't stoop to that level. Why would somebody even produce a shirt with the words F— You on it? I know, I know….. the money.
The court system and local sports media member seem to be taking care of former Flyer Rick Tocchet . He might not have to spend any time in jail after pleading guilty to running a betting ring and he doesnt' have to worry about being portrayed as a bad guy in the paper, on the radio or on television.
