I have never seen anything like what the Phils did by going out on the field and helping that grounds crew get the tarp put on the field. Check out the video of the Phils in action.
This was some of the best video the Phillies could ever hope for. Personally, I thought somebody was going to get hurt but it worked out great and the Rockies gave them a hand. This was such a different side of a baseball team. The Phils have got to play this thing up because it was genuine and we should hear more about it.
Here you had multi-millionaire ball players out there on the field risking their health to help these lowly paid grounds keepers. There was only one Colorado player who came out to help. These winds and the tarp were creating quite a problem yet the Phils didn't hesitate to go out there and help that crew. They gained a lot of respect from me for doing that. It doesn't make them a playoff team but it does say something about them as people.
