Rating The D Line 10th In The League

From John Bauer,

I think it's a vote on the line's potential, not on last year's performance.  If Bunkley can step up, Twiggy can bulk up, and the new signings produce well, the D-Line will actually be much better than 10th.  If they play like they did last year, they won't be in the top 20.  Average the two and maybe you get something around 10th best.

John,

Every defensive line that's listed before the Eagles is a physical line with at least one player who had a solid Pro Season recently.  Maybe it is based on potential but I wouldn't put them up that high yet.

Dear G (does "G" stand for genius?),

I always enjoy reading your analysis. Each post seems so intelligent. And your insights definitely enhance my appreciation of the "chess match" in arranging players in trying to win.

I am wondering if the Eagles' braintrust are seeing, thinking, and discussing the same things as you point out to your readers. Needless to say, an NFL coach can't get to that level on good looks alone so each one must have profound insights into the game and what it takes to win. In any case, do these guys read your deathless prose? Are they open to your views? And do they discuss them with you? Or are coaches and players so bombarded by people offering opinions that they have to insulate themselves from all outside influences?

Personally I would love to be a fly on the wall when strategic discussions are taking place behind the scenes.

As an incurably optimistic Iggle fan who was 14 in 1960, I unabasedly reaffirm my 19-0 prediction for 2007-8.
