The Philadelphia Eagles today announced they have agreed to terms with DE Victor Abiamiri on a four-year contract.
Abiamiri becomes the 7th member of the Eagles 2007 draft class to agree to terms on a contract, joining Stewart Bradley, Tony Hunt, C.J. Gaddis, Brent Celek, Rashard Barksdale, and Nate Ilaoa.
A second-round draft choice from Notre Dame (57th overall), Abiamiri (6-4, 267) was named the school's defensive lineman of the year for the second consecutive season as a senior in 2006, after leading the team in sacks (10.5) and tackles for a loss (15). Those 10.5 sacks ranked second on the school's all-time list.
In 49 career games, the 21-year-old Abiamiri registered 128 tackles, 40 tackles for a loss, 20.5 sacks, 21 hurries and three forced fumbles.
The Randallstown, MD, native attended the Gilman School in Baltimore, where he garnered first-team All-America honors as a senior, after leading the team with 52 tackles, 17 TFLs, and 12 sacks. He was also named the defensive POY by the Baltimore Sun following his junior and senior seasons.
