Today The Crowd Was Pure Philly

There were over 17,000 fans in attendance and they were yelling, chanting and screaming at the top of their lungs all morning long.

Donovan Mcnabb was back in his brace but he was still throwing the football with excellent precision.  As I said earlier but Donovan and the rookie Kevin Kolb had excellent workouts.

The offensive line was able to open some holes for Brian Westbrook and he made the most of it.  Bwest took one down the right sideline for about 30 yards.  He got loose on another run or two.  The problem with the Eagles is they don't have anybody with Brian's skills backing him up.  I think they need to look on the waiver wire and find somebody who can be decent to good in that role.  If he were to go down they wouldn't be able to compete on any where near the same level.

There were some fireworks with a fight blazing up between big Max Jean-Gilles and nearlly as big LaJuan Ramsey.  I like the fact that Ramsey got into a scrape because I think his ability rivals any tackle they have including Bunkley.   Ramsey is my sleeper among the D line.  I've liked this kid since he got here but he needs to get meaner and hungrier.  He should make them give him some plays in the rotation.

Jeremiah Trotter laid down a few monster hits but he was also beaten badly a couple of times by the tight ends.  The first one was against Brent Celek.  The young tight end gave him a head and shoulder fake outside and came open about fifteen yards deep going across the middle.  Trot put a pop on him after he caught it but he still got a first down out of it.

On another play in the team drills without tackling, Trot was manned up on Matt Schobel.  Schobel shuck the middle backer and froze him.  Once he got his feet stopped he deepened down the middle and McNabb threw a strike over Trot's head and into the waiting arms of Schobel.  Again Jeremiah was victimized by a tight end when the offense caught him one on one.

Brent Celek had a big day today and seems ot pulling well ahead of Lee Vickers in the battle at tight end.  Celek made quite a few catches and many of them were well downfield.
