Andy Reid must make a statement about his son's legal problems. He would be smart to come out and get it over with, so that he's not hounded about this for the entire season.
He took a leave of absence during the off season because both his sons got in legal trouble, earlier in the year on January 30th. The fact that he already took a leave of absence for over a month during the off-season proves the fact that the legal problems of his sons affected the performing of his job as the Eagles head coach.
Andy is going to deny that his son's problems will affect him but there's no question that they will. I know Andy is a great planner and is very focused on his job but he's human. Reid will find his mind straying at times with thoughts of his sons legal problems running through his head. He'll get on the phone at times with his wife Tammy and his sons. He'll share his thoughts and feeling with them as the legal precedings continue. You know it's going to be up and down with the court system, and probably more down than up. Seeing a son taken off to jail isn't an easy thing but Andy is going to have to use all his ability to compartmentalize to get through it.
I hope and believe that the distractions won't stop him for doing good job, but there are still plenty of reasons he needs to assure the fans that they won't.
As for his son Britt, this young man is battling a serious addiction. He must face his situation wholeheartedly and come to the realization that his parents are not going to be able to do this for him. The young man is in the toughest battle of his life.
