GM Heckert Feels Comfortable With Cuts

Eagles General Manager Tom Heckert told the media yesterday that he felt very good about the squad they've settle on for the     upcoming season. Checkout the Eagles depth chart.

Heckert says backup quarterback A.J. Feeley will be fine.  He's going to be fitted with a little gadget on his finger.  They don't have any plans of signing another quarterback.

I don't see how they can be serious about putting Greg Lewis back there for punt returns.  Are you kidding he looked very bad catching both of the punts in the Jets game.  He looked like he was praying during the first catch which he let slip through his hands and down between his legs.  The second one he caught on the three yard line which is a Cardinal sin because you're not supposed to catch anything inside the ten yard line.

Heckert says the Birds are fine with Saverio Rocca doing the holding.  I don't see how they can get sleep at night with Rocca doing the holding for field goals and extra points.  He could cost the Birds a game.

Heckert said he expects All-Pro guard Shawn Andrews to be back at practice on Monday. TE L.J. Smith is expected to be ready to play on Sunday when the Birds start their regular season against the Packers.

2nd year defensive tackle LaJuan Ramsey is also expected back on the field for preparation for the Packers. He missed most of training camp because of a high ankle sprain.
