Wed Scouting Report – The Redskins still have that powerful running game led by Clinton Portis and Ladell Betts, but young quarterback Jason Campbell is learning the game and he has all the tools.
Portis and Betts run hard and did a great job of pounding the Dolphins in the second half. With the game on the line in overtime, the Skins got the kickoff and methodically ran the ball down Miami's throat for a victory. Portis is bigger but Betts runs just as hard.
Atlthough the Eagles did a good job shutting down Green Bay's running attack, it wasn't a legitimate test. This Monday night's battle against the Skins will be be a true gauge of the Birds defensive prowess against the run.
Campbell has a gun for an arm and seems to be getting better in reading coverages. The young QB even showed us that he can get out of the pocket and run. He has a long throwing motion and still will hold the ball too long.
With Lito Sheppard sidelined for this game, you can believe the Redskins are going to seriously test the Eagles corners. They've got a major game breaker in Santana Moss, who is a threat to take it the distance any time he touches the ball. You can believe the Birds will try to double him any time they can.
Here lies the challenge for the Birds. Redskins 2nd receiver Antwaan Randle-El had a coming out party on Sunday with 162 yards worth of catches. He's going to be matched up one on one because of Moss on the other side, so he'll be able to have another big day if he can beat the Eagles corners man to man coverage.
