All this talk about Andy Reid leaving the Eagles during the season is unfounded. The Birds staff is looking over the footage from the first four games and making corrections. As far as I know Reid will be at the helm the rest of the season.
This has been an awful start to the season for Andy Reid. The coaching staff's performance has been pathetic and the finger of blame points to Reid. I think there’s legitimate reason to believe Andy is having trouble focusing clearly on football while his family is embroiled in serious legal trouble.
In the Packers game, Andy committed an error that you might see on the high school or midget league level. He made the unforgivable mistake of taking the special teams for granted to the point where he didn't have a player back to catch punts who had proven he could do it. This is the reason you have the preseason. There's no way in the world that the Eagles should have had Greg Lewis and J.R. Reed back there fielding punts in a regular season game. You use the preseason games to test a person to see if he can field punts. Andy's incompetence cost the Eagles that football game.
Likewise in the Giants game he made another unforgivable mistake by refusing to adjust to the fact that Winston Justice couldn't block Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora one on one. You have to either make an adjustment to give him help or take Justice out of the game. Again this was incompetence. He has single-handedly cost the Eagles two football games.
I haven't even gotten into the fact that he continues to throw the ball even though the running game has functioned well. He knew McNabb wasn't going to be hundred percent, yet he failed to make an adjustment with his game plan.
I don't see how the Eagles players can look at Andy Reid and have confdence in him. I've seen times when a player has cost his team a game because of not knowing his plays and assignments. This is incompetence. That player wouldn't be respected or put in a leadership position while he was with that team.
Due to these unacceptable performances, I could only give Reid and his staff an F grade for their work so far this season. .
