Dylan’s Answers To Struggling Offense

From Dylan, Hey GCOBB I read your article October 19th about how we have too few of weapons in the redzone, on which I agree.  But then I read one of your articles about how you think McNabb's Days are numbered here in Philadelphia, that is something I disagree with.

On offense we've been struggling because our wide receivers cannot get enough seperation, and on top of that how are we supposed to win games with a starting wide reciever, Kevin Curtis,  who is only 5'9".

Listen, I hear people talk and write about Donovan Mcnabb like they know who he is already when the fan's don't even know who he really is and how good he really is. I say this because Donovan Mcnabb has never gotten support from the wide receiver position.  Now Donovan did get support one year, which was in 2004 when he demanded the trade for Terrell Owens. And what did Donovan do that year that no quarterback has ever done in the history of football before then?  Donovan threw for over 30 touchdowns with less than 10 interceptions.  Donovan's carreer year was in 2004 because he had support, he threw for 31 touchdowns and only 8 interceptions and over 3,000 yards.

So i ask myself, what is Andy Reid's hesitation to get a receiver above 6 feet thats fast and who will start for us?  Like the Chris Chambers deal a couple weeks ago with the Chargers, the Eagles should have got in on that deal, the Eagles have enough cap room!

And you hear about all the analysts writing about how Donovan over throws his wide recievers, I'm not making an excuse to make it okay for Donovan, BUT HIS WIDE RECIEVER, Kevin Curtis,  IS 5'9". And I'm not just singeing out Curtis, but look at Reggie Brown,  he wonders why he can't get the ball as much as he wants.  It's because he is HORRIBLE at getting separation off the corner back.

After writing this I think I am gonna agree With You GCOBB, Donovan's days are numbered here in Philadelphia, but don't blame Donovan because it's Tom Heckert and Jeffery Laurie that don't wanna get #5 support.

Just imagine if we had a Lavernues Coles type guy, or a Roy Williams type guy with Jason Avant and Hank Baskett in slot.

Yes. I discluded Kevin Curtis And Reggie Brown because neither of them are good enough to start. Right now all we have on our team in the wide receiver position are just a bunch of slot recievers.

This isn't just coming from me, the fans know we need it, Marty Mornhinwig knows we need it, and especially Donovan Mcnabb know's we need it.because he asks for it every year!

From Matt,

G,

I don't believe that the writing is on the wall for McNabb. McNabb is a winner.  It took Carson Palmer a whole year to get back into form.  I think they give him sometime to get back into form.  Now I am not comparing him to Farve, but when thnings went bad, did the Packers get rid of Farve?  You know the answer.  The fact is that the Eagles are probably rebuilding a little. That  Doesn't mean that it has to replace a proven winnerin McNabb.  Reid comes from the Packer philosophy.  They don't just dump people because things get bad for a while.  I say Andy gives him another year.  Then they see where they are as far as McNabbs return.
