It's another week of an insecure city trying to feel better about itself by beating the Dallas Cowboys. Philly is like the Dad or Husband who verbally abuses his wife and kids because he doesn't feel good about himself. He's got a lousy job and takes it out on them.
Philly doesn't reallly like itself because you always see the media types trying to explain how great we are. We have to keep telling ourselves that we like our city, so we can start feeling that way. We don't like our selves or our city, so we take it out on our sports teams. We can't be New York, or Washington D.C., or Los Angeles, or San Francisco, so we eat our own. There never was a better misnomer than "City Of Brotherly Love".
Once McNabb escapes the meaness of the city with this "Inferiority Complex", Kevin Kolb will be targeted as the reason the people of the city don't like themselves because he's from the south. Right now in the "political correct atmosphere" southerners are the only ones you can be publicly bigoted about. The Eagles might as well be beaten by the Cowboys and left for dead with half the season left. That way Philly can have fun at its favorite sport which is picking over somebody's carcass. They will batter McNabb so much his body won't be recognizable.
The Eagles aren't as good as the Cowboys this year and will probably get beat but the faithful are holding out hope. The Cowboys offense is much more explosive than the Eagles. Tony Romo just got his big contract and is sure to put some points on the board with the likes of Terrell Owens, Jason Witten and Patrick Crayton as some of his targets. All Cowboys have to do is give Romo time to deliver the football.
Marion Barber and Julius Jones will keep the Eagles honest with their running game. The Dallas have a huge offensive line which might be the biggest in all of the NFL, so they should be able to wear down the likes of Trent Cole and Jevon "They Used To Call Him The Freak" Kearse.
The Dallas defense will be able to hold the Eagles under 20 points while Romo and company will score at least 30. I don't think it will be close. Can't you picture it on Sunday night with the Animals in Philly booing their own team again, like they booed the Phillies. It will be another great picture for the nation of a city which likes to eat its own.
