Activities Surrounding The Game

There's a lot happening this weekend around the big game between the Eagles and the Cowboys.  One item you don't want miss will be and interview of Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie's wife Christina Lurie on The Today show on Sunday morning.

WHAT’S HAPPENING AT EAGLES VS. COWBOYS – NOVEMBER 4, 2007

 

• Tonight’s game is presented by Chrysler-Jeep.  Plaza gates will open one hour earlier than normal at 4:00 p.m.

 

• The Today Show will air a special interview with Christina Lurie discussing the team’s Go Green efforts.  The story will air Sunday, November 4 during the 8:00 a.m. hour on NBC. 

 This weekend, volunteers from Jefferson University Hospital will continue selling Eagles Tackling Breast Cancer hats throughout the concourse and stadium.  Five dollars from each hat will be donated to the Jefferson Breast Care Center.  The Eagles are devoted to continuing to aid Jefferson in the fight to cure Breast Cancer.

 Hat sales will begin when gates open at 4:00 p.m. and conclude after kick-off.  Hats are always available for purchase at shops on the concourse, as well as in the Eagles Pro Shop. 

·        The Philadelphia Eagles Cheerleaders will use pink pom-poms and wear Eagles’ Tackling Breast Cancer pins in order to help raise awareness.

·        A silent auction benefiting the Tackling Breast Cancer campaign will take place in the plaza beginning at 4:00 p.m. when gates open and ending with the kickoff of the third quarter.  Chainsaw artist Ben Risney will craft a custom Eagles design for fans to bid on.  Two other previously carved designs will also be displayed for bidding.

·        Game day staff will also wear Eagles’ Tackling Breast Cancer pins as well as pink Eagles’ hats. 

·        Wives of Eagles players and coaches will be in attendance at tonight’s game to help collect food for the Eagles Wives Association Annual Food Drive.  All food and cash donations will benefit Philabundance, a local Philadelphia food bank. 

·        During halftime, there will be an Eagles Television Network produced highlight show featuring other key NFL match-ups played earlier in the day.  

·        Those attending the game can be a part of the festivities on HeadHouse Plaza. Gates will open at 4:00 p.m.  Fans can enjoy great local vendors in HeadHouse Plaza and the concourse: Shanks and Evelyn's, FatJack's, and McNally's serving the famous Schmitter. 

·        New this season is Johnny Brenda’s, where fans can enjoy Victory Beer and Papa John’s at sections 101, 120, C26 and C37 once concourse gates open 6:30 p.m.

·        Fans can enjoy live music by Mr. Greengenes, and the live pre-game 94 WYSP broadcast with former Eagle Bill Bergey. 

·        Other HeadHouse Plaza additions for 2007 include Pulte Homes with a booth where fans will have the opportunity to sign up for the “Take it to the House” contest to win a new home; an opportunity to win a custom designed Eagles 75^th Season Commemorative  Metropolitan Chopper at the Pepsi tent.

·        The PA Auto Theft Prevention Authority will have its custom-wrapped Jeep on display by the Headhouse Building in the plaza. The SUV contains images of Takeo Spikes.  Fans can check out the car and visit www.watchyourcar.org to enter for a chance to have a ‘Breakfast of Champions’ with Spikes before being sent as a VIP to a major stock car race next summer!

·         The GEICO Caveman Crib has returned to HeadHouse Plaza for this evening’s game.  Fans can also stop by the Department of Health’s booth to receive information on how to quit smoking!

• The Simons Dynamic Drum Corp, comprised of 12 members will perform throughout the plaza, main concourse and parking lots. 

 

• Fans who are interested in participating in the Forman Mills Stretch the Field contest, which happens on the playing field during the two-minute warning, should visit the Forman Mills demo tent on the HeadHouse Plaza before kickoff.

 

• In celebration of our 75^th anniversary season, fans can find a brand new line of 75^th Season merchandise, including the official blue and yellow throwback jersey, at the Pro Shop and other merchandise locations throughout the stadium.

 

• Parking costs for lots in the sports complex are $20 for cars; $40 for oversized vehicles.
• Tonight’s National Anthem will be performed by Timmy Kelly.

 

• Our Nation’s colors will be presented by the United States Army. 

 

• Tonight’s game has 1,500 attendees who purchased Standing Room Only tickets.
• The Eagles have teamed up with Mothers Against Drunk Driving to present a “Designated Driver” program on game day.  Guests who act as designated drivers can visit the MADD information booth behind section 120 or other Guest services locations for a wristband redeemable for a free soft drink.

• Congratulations to John Wagner of Saint Joseph’s Prep, this week’s Eagles High School Coach of the Week. Coach Wagner just defeated Monsignor Bonner by a score of 27-0 for his 100^th win. He has also led his team to be the 2007 Catholic League Champions. In honor of Coach Wagner, the Philadelphia Eagles will donate $1000 to Saint Joseph’s Prep’s athletic program. Congratulations Coach John Wagner!

 

• Tonight’s Eagles Brainy Bunch, presented by Sovereign Bank, are Julia Alderfer of Perkasie, PA (Pennridge Green Jackets) and Brandon Boos of Forked River, NJ (Lacey Lions). Together with Pop Warner and Sovereign Bank, the Eagles acknowledge the academic success of youth athletes.  Each were invited to an Eagles home game and have a chance to watch the Eagles warm up from the sidelines.  In addition, Sovereign Bank makes a $500 contribution to each recipient’s team. 

 

• Senior Airman Alicia Trudeau is tonight’s Hometown Hero.  Trudeau is an In-Flight Refueling Journeyman for the 514th Air Mobility Wing of McGuire Air Force Base.  She performs in-flight refueling operations for Air Force aircraft, including on over 100 combat missions, in support of overseas and domestic military operations such as Operations NOBLE EAGLE, ENDURING FREEDOM AND IRAQI FREEDOM. An Air Force Reservist, she volunteered to perform an incredible 308 duty days during calendar year 2006 and was lauded for her performance while refueling an F-15 using abnormal procedures in a combat situation. She is also a summa cum laude graduate of Salve Regina University, where she was a nominee for the prestigious Rhodes Scholarship.  She's your Hometown Hero, Senior Airman Alicia Trudeau!

 

• Fans can share their greatest moment as an Eagles fan and may be featured during a future game as part of the Eagles 75^th Season.  Visit the Lincoln Financial Zone behind section 125, or log onto PhiladelphiaEagles.com. 

 

• Lincoln Financial Fan of the Game is now interactive. During the second quarter, fans will be able to text their vote for Fan A, B or C to “68710” and the winner will be revealed during the third quarter.  Fans can enter by stopping at the Lincoln Financial Zone (behind section 125). 

 

• The City of Philadelphia ordinance prohibiting smoking in Philadelphia public places and work places, including sports facilities, is in effect at Lincoln Financial Field. Smoking is prohibited in all areas of the stadium and will be permitted only in designated areas outside the stadium. 

 AAA Mid-Atlantic is now stationed on site in the parking lots at Lincoln Financial Field.  AAA will provide free emergency auto service for fans in need upon game departure.

• GuestAssist is a new text messaging service available to guests at Lincoln Financial Field.  A guest may call for assistance during events by sending a text message from their cell phone.  The text message is received by a stadium representative and the appropriate assistance is dispatched from the Event Command Post.   By using the GuestAssist system, guests will be able to report issues and concerns, ask for information and call for assistance in a fast, easy and convenient way.  Users open a blank text message and address the message to “78247” and type the word “ASSIST” followed by a space and the issue (question, comment, concern, etc.) and location.  Fans can report disruptive behavior or any other concerns during games at Lincoln Financial Field.  On non-game days, the number to call is 267-570-4400. 

 

• Fans can be assured that Eagles staff are positioned throughout the stadium to meet their every game day need.  Staff members are positioned at the top and bottom of every section in the stadium, as well as Guest Services attendants in the

concourses.  The Eagles are known for its quality and quantity of game day staff, with more staffing than any other NFL venues.
