The Sunday night contest between the Eagles and the Cowboys showed us that the Dallas football team is much more talented than the Eagles. Remember also that Dallas will be improved when Terry Glenn and Tank Johnson are added.
Dallas has a multitude of weapons offensively and they're led by quarterback Tony Romo. I knew the Eagles would be in trouble if Romo was allowed to get outside the pocket. He did his damage rolling to his right which is the side of the defense where overpaid defensive end Jevon Kearse lines up. He and his fellow overpaid defensive lineman Darren Howard totaled zero tackles and zero sacks against the Cowboys.
Terrell Owens continues to be one of the best wide receivers in the league. Tight end Jason Witten is among the league's very best at his position in the league and he's in his prime. Running backs Marion Barber and Julius Jones are an outstanding running tandem. Barber is as physical a runner as any in the league.
There's only one player on the Eagles offense that the Cowboys would want to trade their player for the Eagles player and it's at running back Brian Wesbrook. The Eagles offensive talent is much inferior to the Cowboys.
On the defensive side it's not as bad. I think Dallas would like to have a powerful young defensive tackle like Brodrick Bunkley or a playmaking cornerback like Lito Sheppard. They might want Trent Cole but they have a big time young pass rusher in DeMarcus Ware. The Eagles secondary isn't what it used to be with an aging Brian Dawkins and a backup starting at the other safety position.
