After looking at a tape of the game, I don't think McNabb played as poorly as I thought. I did see a few times when he had shots to get the ball downfield but the Eagles offensive line didn't have the best of games and the receivers are still having trouble getting open.
The Eagles were keeping the tight end to help block the Giants front four. This was a game when the tight end could have had a big day. It was unfortunate that L.J. Smith got hurt because he should have been more effective.
The bottom line is that McNabb doesn't fit this offense. If the Eagles are going to keep him around here they've got to upgrade their wide receivers. Donovan was a completely different quarterback with a quality wide receiver like Terrell Owens to throw the ball to.
A.J. Feeley tried to fit the ball into the tight windows you get with this receiver group and he was on his way to setting an all-time interception record.
