Heckert Came On Too Strong

According to Mike Florio of Profootballtalk.com, Tom Heckert came on too strong to the Falcons.  He must have been espousing the talents of the Eagles wide receiver corps.  I'm sure he was telling them how they were amongst the very best in the NFL. Check it out.

HECKERT CAME ON TOO STRONG?

Early talk on the league grapevine is that Eagles G.M. Tom Heckert might have come on too strong for the Falcons when he interviewed for the team’s G.M. position.

But, then again, it’s difficult if not impossible to compare the impressions made by Heckert and Tom Dimitroff, who ultimately got the job, because Heckert had a face-to-face interview and Dimitroff was only interviewed by video conference.

Meanwhile, it’s obvious that Dimitroff is second fiddleto team president Rich McKay, even though Dimitroff supposedly has final say over personnel.  Amazingly, the team’s press release announcing the move was sure to point out the fact that Dimitroff reports to McKay.

Thus, Dimitroff will be “G.M. Lite,” for as long as McKay is around.
