The Giants had a great draft this past April. The reason we know that is because of the way they utilized all those rookies in their first year of NFL action. If you subtract Ahmad Bradshaw, Steve Smith, Kevin Boss, and Zach DeOssie, the Giants would be into their offseason like the Eagles.
Ahmad Bradshaw has made runs in the fourth quarter of each of the Giants playoff wins. It's astonishing when I see that they have him on the field and Brandon Jacobs on the bench in the second half and overtime when the game is on the line. This guy has come through with big runs, he almost clinched last night's game but his TD run was called back, whenever the Giants have needed it. He's quicker and more of a big play threat than Jacobs. This guy was a seventh round pick and he was a key component in New York's Super Bowl run.
Everybody thought the Giants were done when Jeremy Shockey got hurt. Rookie Kevin Boss from Western Oregon, I've never heard of the school, has stepped in and contributed to a Giants offense that hasn't missed a beat.
In all of the three playoff win for the Giants, Eli Manning was looking for rookie Steve Smith in key situations with the game on the line. He made big catches against Tampa Bay, Dallas and last night against the Packers. This guy was hurt most of the season but New York doesn't have any problem letting him play even though this is his first season.
The Eagles must learn that they should play their rookies.
