I can understand why nobody gives the Giants a chance to beat the undefeated Patriots in the upcoming Super Bowl but I think there's a chance they could accomplish the impossible. They must duplicate their previous three playoff performances.
Offensively, they've got to be able to run the football. Eli Manning has to play within himself and stay away from turnovers. They must control the football by employing a conservative time consuming offensive game plan.
Defensively, the Giants must first of all take away the bombs to Randy Moss. They must make Tom Brady work his short game to Wes Welker and Kevin Faulk. They can't give him the deep stuff to Moss or Donte Stallworth.
Michael Strahan, Osi Umenyiora and Justin Tuck must have big days. They have to get pressure on Brady as well as control Laurence Maroney and the Pats ground game. Middle linebacker Antonio Pierce and his comrades in the defensive front seven, must do this without a lot of help from their safeties, who will be focused on covering the outstanding Patriots receivers.
It's going to take an outstanding performance but remember that the Patriots haven't been playing their best football.
