Culpepper And Moss Story Is A Joke

The whole Daunte Culpepper reuniting with Randy Moss story is a joke.  It's Culpepper and  his agent trying to find a way to get some teams interested in signing Culpepper.  It won't work because teams wouldn't sign Culpepper and Moss as a package deal.  Every guy is on his own.

I know last year when Moss was getting ready to leave the Raiders, Culpepper was begging him to stay there, so that they could be reunited.  You can tell from the way they've played since they left Minnesota, that it was more Moss helping Daunte than Daunte helping Moss.

Right now a lot of the stories that get out there are stories created by players' agents.  For instance I think Culpepper's agent created this story.  

The story which you've seen about ten teams being interested in acquiring the services of Javon Walker. That story was created by his agent and sounds like a bogus story.  Some of the teams won't bother letting it be known that they're not interested but some of them will do just that.  The Eagles and the Redskins have made it public that they're not interested in him.

I don't know that the Redskins reason is for not being interested in Walker but the Eagles don't feel good about his injured knee. You know that the Broncos wouldn't have released him if they thought his knee was still good enough for him to be productive.

You can believe that Lito Sheppard's agent let it be known that 6 teams are interested in Lito.  That sounds like the truth because good cornerbacks are hard to find.  Lito is not only a good one but he's also big playmaking type of corner, which are even harder to find.  

The story about Lito being given permission to work out his own trade was a story created by Lito's agent.  Sheppard's agent heard from somebody in one of the team's front offices that the Birds were shopping Sheppard.  He wanted to get that out in the public so he changed the story abit to make it look like a better situation for Lito.

This type of chicanery goes on all the time during free agency.

Remember every time you see a story, ask yourself who does it help and who does it hurt.  That'll give you an idea of where it came from.
