You know it comes down to pitching in baseball and so far this spring training season, there's nothing but reasons to worry for the Phillies. 2nd year hurler Kyle Kendrick got bombed again yesterday. Adam Eaton has been just as bad, now he's hurt.
Kendrick has a ERA over 16. I didn't feel good about him after last year because he doesn't have dominant stuff. He's the kind of guy who is a lot easier to hit once you get a book on him. The National League hitters now have a book on Kendrick and they're all over him.
Eaton has been awful in his spring training outings but he hasn't as badd as Kendrick because his ERA didn't quite reach 16, it's close at 15. He's got a problem with a disc in his back, so look out.
They should consider signing veteran pitcher Kyle Lohse, who came through for them last year with some clutch performances in key games down the stretch.
