The NFL has made some substantial rule changes . No longer will there be any such thing as a force out. Either a receiver lands in bounds or out of bounds. They wanted to get more consistency on the calls.
There won't be any such thing as a five yard face mask penalty. If it's not the more serious face mask penalty then there won't be any penalty called on the play. This should have been done a long time ago. Nobody is going to get hurt because somebody touches their facemask. Injuries a occur when somebody hangs onto it.
If a field goal is in doubt like the one last year which was occurred in the game in Baltimore, when a kick went through the uprights and hit off a part of the goalpost and bounced back, it will be reviewed. I think they're doing the right thing there.
The did away with that stupid rule where a direct snap is fumbled and it's ruled as a false start. Now if a direct snap is mishandled it will be treated as a fumble like it should have been all along. That happened on a game last year and I couldn't believe it.
