Kicker Matt Stover of the Baltimore Ravens email pushing for the ouster of Gene Upshaw.
Stover says he was on a conference call on Friday and says he wasn't the only player representative who feels it's time for a change at the top of the union. I know there are quite a few players who feel Upshaw has cozied up too closely to management.
Here's the email sent out by Stover.
Nobody knows whether Stovall, the Ravens union representative has enough backing from the other player representatives but the fact that he would do this publicly makes me think that he believes he has enough backing to get it done.
Troy Vincent recently left his position as President of the National Football League players association and was put in the position as Assistant Executive Director of the Players Association.
Upshaw recently took shots at the new Assistant Executive Director when asked if Vincent was in place to replace him. He said something like Vincent is no closer to replacing him and isn't in line to replace him. He said the guy who is number two is number two for a reason.
Upshaw has been making millions in bonuses from the NFLPA while some of the guys who he played with and against are languishing in pain from old football injuries without any health insurance.
