The Top QB’s In The Draft

This isn't an extraordinary draft when it comes to quarterbacks.

The number one quarterback is Matt Ryan of Boston College.  He's got an average arm but he does have, the size and the smarts but he also threw 19 interceptions this year.  Quite a few teams are very high on him but I have my questions about anybody who threw 19 interceptions.

Ryan will benefit from having played a pro style offense in college. He's expected to pick up the pro game very quickly and get on the field in his first year. He's very cool under fire and with the game on the line.

He's a pure pocket passer but is able to make plays out of the pocket.

Brian Brohm has all the tools to play on the next level.  He's got a above average arm and great accuracy as a passer.  Brohm does a good job of reading defenses and getting the ball out of his hands.

He doesn't have a gun for an arm and isn't the best athlete to play the position.  He had a ACL injury and also had surgery on his thumb.  Brohm throws a good deep ball.

Joe Flacco of Delaware has the best arm of this year's quarterbacks.  He's got great size but doesn't have great feet.  He sees the field very well and seems to have a good feel for reading defenses.

He might have the most upside of this year's group.  This youngster is very cool in the pocket.

Chad Henne of Michigan is next on the board.  He's got great side but doesn't have a gun for an arm.  He makes mistakes with the football by misreading coverages and will stare down a receiver.

He looks great at times but doesn't show enough consistency.  he can make all the throws and played in a Pro system.

Andre Woodson of Kentucky has all of the tools to be a successful NFL quarterback but he has trouble reading defenses.  He played his entire career in the shotgun so he may have trouble playing under center.

The key also will be his footwork which isn't as important in the shot gun.
