The Top RB’s In The Draft

This draft is rich in running backs

and I think the Eagles need to get one.

The guy who I am the least enamored with is the guy who the supposed experts have at the top of the list and that is Darren McFadden of Arkansas.  He's got speed to burn and he has good size but his vision isn't good and he legs aren't packed with the muscle you like to see in NFL backs.

Most of the great NFL backs used powerful legs to run through tackles and carry the pile. I don't see that in McFadden eventhough he's a talented young man.  Take a look at him here but remember he's not my favorite.

I think he should be used in conjunction with another running back.  I think they should spread him out and move him around.

Oregon's Jonathan Stewart doesn't have the pure speed of McFadden but he's an all around back who has great vision, balance and the bug muscular legs that can flourish in the NFL.

You'll see that the kid has tremendous discipline and focus since he comes from a military family.  This youngster had surgery on his big toe and will fall lower in the draft than he should.  He's got the combination of size and speed that sets him apart.

I think his explosiveness is questionable but I like this kid..

I love what I see in Rashard Mendenhall.  He's got the quickness, the vision, the hands, the patience and the legs.  Nobody will be disappointed if they get this kid.  He's a keeper as far as I'm concerned.

Arkansas' Felix Jones has played in the shadow of McFadden but he's capable of being an outstanding running back on the pro level.  He's a just a bit less than Mendenhall but much of the same type of explosiveness.

This next kid Chris Johnson is the fastest of the group running a 4.24 forty yard dash.  If you look his video you see him outrunning the angle time and time again.  He would be a great backup for Brian Westbrook because he's able to do many of the same things.

Ray Rice is a solid running back with good speed size and power.  He needs to work on his pass receiving skills.
