The Miami Dolphins are in negotiations with Jake Long and Vernon Gholston.
Sun-Sentinel.com says the Dolphins closely investigated five players and they have started negotiating with two of them and they are Long and Gholston.
I think the Dolphins have identified the two surest bets to be successes in the NFL. I really like Gholston better than all of them. He's going to be a monster in Miami's 3-4 defense.
He's got that burst plus he's strong as an ox. I saw a tape of him running over this big kid Long. In fact they say this kid Long gave up only two sacks a year ago and both of them were to Gholston. That figures because this kid is better than Chris Long.
I know he's Howie Long's kid and he's a special player but this kid Gholston is a beast. He's clearly quicker and faster than Long. I know Bill Parcells sees Lawrence Taylor and DeMarcus Ware when he looks at Gholston on tape.
Parcells has been right again and again when selecting defensive players to hang his hat on.
I see the enormous physical skills as well as the intensity and tenacity of a great one in Gholston.
The Jake Long kid is a sure anchor for ten years on one side of your offensive line. I think Ryan Clady and Chris Williams could eventually become better left tackles than Long because they've got quicker feet and more athleticism.
I think this kid Long is further along at the moment and ready to play right now.
