Pressure On Eagles From The Giants

There will be pressure on Andy Reid and his staff to have an outstanding draft to keep up with the NFC East., especially the New York Giants.

The New York Giants are sure to be a beast of a team for a number of years.  A lot of it has to do with their personnel decisions especially their drafting.

Last year the Giants had a phenomenal draft and those rookie players which helped them win a Super Bowl are sure to get better this year than they were a year ago.  Their 2007 draft class will be older and probably improved this time around.

Cornerback Aaron Ross, wide receiver Steve Smith, linebacker/long snapper Zak DeOssie, tight end Kevin Boss, safety Michael Johnson, defensive tackle Jay Alford, and running back Ahmad Bradshaw will probably be a thorn in the side of the Eagles for years to come.

It's not reasonable to think the Birds can duplicate this level of a draft but they need an outstanding year.

In addition, Eli Manning will probably play with more confidence the rest of his career because of the run he and the Giants made at the end of last season.

Their defensive line other than Michael Strahan is young. Osi Umenyiora, Justin Tuck, and Mathias Kiwanuka will have to be dealt with for years to come.

Think about this, Winston Justice will try to block these guys his entire career.

Systems and game planning are important but ultimately it comes down to the personnel.
