There's a rumor started on ProFootballTalk.com that the Eagles have created a new trade value chart as an aid in moving up in the first round of the draft.
According to sources of Mike Florio's of ProFootballTalk.com, the Eagles are trying desperately to move up in the first round. Nobody knows the player they have targeted but obviously they have their eyes set on someone.
The Eagles have former All-Pro cornerback Lito Sheppard dangling out there for would be suitors and the 2008 draft approaches. They're trying to utilize Sheppard and the fact that he is a former All-Pro and known commodity to put them in position to get a player who they consider to be can't miss.
A trade value chart places a certain, specific value of a draft pick. Of course the most valuable draft pick would be number one in the first round and go down from there.
Over recent years teams have begun putting less value on that first pick and the first five picks because of the financial risk that goes with those picks. If a teams make a mistake up that high in the draft, they will suffer repercussion for that misake for the next five to ten years.
