Former NFL Defensive Player Of The Year Jason Taylor wants out of Miami.
He has made it clear that he doesn't want to play for the Dolphins any more and wants a trade. The Dolphins are trying to safisfy his request but haven't found a team to do a deal with as of yet.
The defensive end is said to be out in Hollywood looking for acting work after competing on ABC's Dancing With The Stars.
Taylor still has some quality football left in him but he doesn't fit the Dolphins new 3-4 scheme. Taylor is a 4-3 defensive end because of his size and speed. He weighs in the 250 pound to 260 pound area. He wouldn't be effective taking on the 350 plus pound offensive tackles in the league head to head.
4-3 defensive ends line up on the outside shoulder of the tackles, not head up like 3-4 defensive ends. It's a huge difference and something Bill Parcells and Taylor know is the reason he doesn't fit in Miami's future.
