In what looks to be the NFL story of the year,
the Green Bay Packers are willing to welcome Brett Favre back to their football team, but only as a backup.
It's what you call "calling Brett's bluff". This is headed to being problems for the Packers and Favre.
If he comes back as the backup, the pressure on Aaron Rodgers to play well would be extraordinary. The pressure would also be on Favre to keep a good attitude. If he were to return to the team but be disruptive it would destroy the good name he's built throughout his Hall. Of Fame career.
Well right now the ball is back in Favre's court. He'll have to let everybody know just how eager he is to return to action.
Favre had requested his unconditional release from the Packers after seeing that Green Bay managment wasn't enthusiastic about his desire to return to the football team.
