I don't know if you saw it but Donovan McNabb was fighting hard for L.J. Smith last night on Daily News Live.
He was arguing that there should be more pass routes in the offense for him. McNabb went so far as to say other tight ends in the division like the Redskins tight end Chris Cooley, Cowboys tight end Jason Witten and previously Jeremy Shockey of the Giants, had more routes to run.
McNabb said he thought the Eagles should put in more plays for Smith as a way of making him more productive. You would figure that Five would take this argument to the coaching staff first before taking it public.
I'll bet you Smith has been crying to him behind the scenes.
I want to see Eagles tight end L.J Smith on the field now showing why this season is going to be different. I was disappointed that he was missing time with the calf strain, but now I want to see something.
