We've spoken a ton about the Eagles and their current state, but I really can't ignore the Phillies and what they've done.
But, in typical Philly fashion (call it dumb luck), the Phils couldn't close out the Rays Monday night at home with Cole Hamels on the mound.
I'm not going to blame the Phillies, because the conditions were so horrific and MLB botched the game. So, as we wait for Wednesday night to complete Game 5 of the World Series, I offered up several reasons why the Phillies will and won't win the championship .
On a side note, before Monday night's game, how many people thought back to 2003 and the finale of the 2002 football season. It was a lock. The last game at the Vet. The Bucs hadn't beaten the Eagles in years. They hadn't scored an offensive touchdown against the Birds in quite some time as well. The temperature was under 32 degrees. The Eagles had a 7-0 lead. Ugh. I need an aspirin.
