At this point, insiders around the Eagles consider it a certainty that Donovan McNabb will not be back.
They're not 100% sure, but they're near 90%.
His value will be enhanced if the Birds run the table and finish the season with ten wins.
Nobody knows what the end game will be.
The questions with McNabb will be where will they trade him and what will they ask for him. Will the Eagles demand a number one pick? Will they ask for a number one and something in addition? Would they settle for a number two?
Will the ten years he's given them be taken into account? Will they trade him within the conference or is that a no-no?
Will the Eagles play hardball or would they trade him to a former Reid assistant like Brad Childress ini Minnesota? The Vikings possess two killer lines along with Adrian Peterson, maybe the best pure running back in football.
Would the Eagles trade McNabb into that nice of a situation?
McNabb is only 32 years of age and a has a lot of football still left in him. His value has to be benefitted by the success of Kurt Warner, Jeff Garcia, Kerry Collins and Chad Pennington.
No serious discussions of this subject will take place until the season ends. I encourage you to watch how he is treated down the stretch.
Once they are definitely out of the playoff picture, will they continue to start him or will he sit? Will they bad mouth him on the way out or will they try to enhance his value. We'll have to wait and see.
