You know what this means. Not only are the Eagles in the playoffs but Reid and McNabb will probably be back.
Reid was in a great mood after the game in his press conference. He said he found out that the stage was set for them to make the playoffs just before leaving the locker room for the game. Reid praised his offensive and defensive coordinators for the jobs they did preparing the team for the game.
Donovan McNabb played a solid game. In the first quarter, he made a great play when he bought time by leaving the pocket and scrambling to his right.
McNabb started toward the line of scrimmage but kept his head up and the ball in a throwing position. He got the ball to Correll Buckhalter who was headed across the middle.
Buck caught the ball in stride and took it 59 yards down inside the red zone. A couple of plays later on third down, McNabb scored a touchdown on a quarterback sneak.
Later on McNabb found Buckhalter open in the flat.
This was a huge score because the Birds looked like they were about to be stopped and forced to kick a field goal. I was concerned that the Eagles might outplay Dallas in the first half but do nothing but kick field goals.
The touchdown by Buck gave McNabb and the offense a lot of confidence.
Buckhalter had a big day for the Birds. He contributed 63 yards rushing and another 59 while catching three passes. Finally, the Eagles gave him a shot and he made the most of it. .
Andy Reid said afterwards that they went into the game intent on getting the ball into Buck's hands.
McNabb made a great thow to DeSean Jackson on a seam route. He laid the ball over the defender into Jackson's hands and he came down with it.
He also made a nice throw on the touchdown pass to Brent Celek. Both of these throws were touch throws, which is good to see from McNabb
