I want to see the Eagles feature a "check with me" series of plays with both Westbrook and Buckhalter on the field at the same time.
"Check with me" means McNabb would come to the line of scrimmage, decipher what defense the Vikings are in, then call the play with a signal. He won't be able to verbally call it because the noise will be unbearable in the dome.
He can run it or throw it depending on what kind of defense the Vikes are in. They could spring Buck on some big plays while Minnesota's defense is occupied on BWest.
The Vikings are sure to be focusing on Westbrook regardless of whether he's in the backfield or split out as a receiver. When the Eagles split him out, the Minnesota defense will be thinking pass.
They can try to spring Buck on some quick hitters, get him isolated on a linebacker via screen or short pass.
If he's in the backfield, they'll have to be in a run defense focusing on Westbrook. Buck could be effective via misdirection plays after faking the handoff to BWest.
Of course Westbrook is still going to be a big part of the offense, but if Buck could spring a big play or two it might make the Vikes back off their intense focus on him.
The ability of Buckhalter to both run the ball effectively and hurt the Vikings by catching the ball when he's coming out o the backfield could be a key to the Birds beating the Vikings.
They can't double both Buck and Westbrook. I like Buck's chances when he's in one-on-one situations versus a linebacker. He's one of the Eagles best football players so they've got to get him involved.
