Donovan McNabb made a lot of good throws agains tthe Vikes but the Birds will need more from him next Sunday.
All the drives except the one that included the screen to Westbrook wound up coming up with field goals or nothing else. His quarterback rating for the game was 92.8.
McNabb can't turn the ball over next week like he did this week. it wasn't all his fault but they've got to avoid turnovers against New York.
McNabb must either get the ball out of his hands sooner or Tra Thomas and Jon Runyan are going to have to do a better job of blocking.
The interception wasn't that bad of a throw, but Kevin Curtis jumped too soon and let the ball get over his head. I do have a problem with calling a deep throwing play in that situation.
McNabb made quite a few big time throws with pressure in his face. The throws he made with his feet in the end zone or very close to it, helped to hold the Vikes to 14 points.
He hit Jason Avant a number of times with some big throws. They allowed the Birds to get better field position. Avant had five catches for 47 yards.
There's no question who the Eagles starting tight end is with Brent Celek contributing six catches for 56 yards.
McNabb hit eight receivers with passes and wound up 23 of 34 for 300 yards with one TD pass and one interception.
I don't want him to forget his athletic ability and the run option that could swing things their way.
