John Clayton of ESPN says that the Giants and Eagles are the front runners for the services of Anquan Boldin.
Clayton thinks that Boldin's trade demands will be met and he'll be shipped out of town. According to Clayton, the compensation is believed to be first- and third-round picks. The Eagles have two first-round picks (21, 28) while the Giants only have one and it's lower (29).
Reportedly, the Eagles are the favorites to land Boldin.
If the Eagles pull this off, they will have added DeSean Jackson and Anquan Boldin in the last two years by trading out of the first round for the second consecutive year. All hell was ready to break loose last April when they initially made the trade, but if they can get this done, it will have been well worth it.
As far as I'm concerned, however, it's not going to happen. The Cardinals have Boldin locked up for two more years at very good prices. They went to the Super Bowl this year so I'm not sure why they would be willing to take a step back. That is, unless Warner retires, in which case, just sell the farm. Leinart is garbage. But, I digress.
The Cardinals were the talk of the free-agent market last year and didn't pull the trigger on anything. The Eagles would love to add Boldin as a red-zone target and overall weapon (think of how much better D Jax would get too), but there is something telling me that it's not going to happen.
