Drew Rosenhaus has lost his mind. He's saying that it will take four draft picks to trade for Anquan Boldin because of the Roy Williams deal.
Rosenhaus was on Miami radio station WQAM on Thursday morning.
He's looking at what the foolish Cowboys gave up for Roy Williams and reasoning that Boldin is a better and more accomplished receiver, so he's worth more. No team in their right mind is going to give up four picks which include a first and third round pick for Boldin.
“You know, the bottom line is that’s going to be up to the Cardinals,” Rosenhaus said. “It’s very hard to project what a team is looking for. There was a big trade this season for Roy Williams. The wide receiver went from Detroit to the Dallas Cowboys and that compensation involved a first-round pick, third-round pick and sixth-round pick (and a seventh next year). So you have to use that. Any time you see a front-line, No. 1 receiver, a Pro Bowl receiver, being traded, you have to look at the Roy Williams deal as a landmark for what the compensation would be.”
If the Cardinals ask for four picks, there's no way in the world the Eagles would do the deal.
Rosenhaus sent out a letter last week telling teams that Boldin was out on the market for teams interested but the Cardinals denied that his assertions were true. Still Rosenhaus says Boldin wants out of Arizona.
“Anquan has made it very clear that he is interested in a trade,” the agent said. “Anquan has stated his intentions at the Pro Bowl. Now that the season is over he has made it very clear — forget what I have to say — that he is interested in being traded. So you know, I don’t know how clear cut it can get.”
Of course Rosenhaus can run his mouth all he wants to but he has no say in any trade talks which involve Boldin. The fact that Boldin has two years remaining on his deal, takes away most Rosenhaus' power.
