McNabb Meeting Not A Priority

Les Bowen of the Philly.com was on 610-WIP this morning talking about how the Eagles don’t look at setting up a meeting with Donovan McNabb as a priority at this particular time.

He didn’t feel there was any sense of urgency from the Eagles to get something done immediately.

The Eagles have plenty of money to work with so if and when they want to give McNabb a new deal and a signing bonus they can do it.

Right now the Birds are focused on preparing for the draft getting Brian Dawkins and Tra Thomas signed before free agency starts later this week on Friday.

Bowen talked about the fact that the Eagles can’t spend all the money they have under the cap.  The cap has continued to rise unexpectedly high.  That’s why all the team were able to franchise players because everybody has so much room under the salary cap.

All I could do was shake my head when Bowen talked about his discussion with Andy Reid about the research the Eagles have done to prove that the size of the running back isn’t important on short yardage situations.

You know that’s a case of knowing what the result you want from a study then conducting a study to prove what you want it to prove.
