Former Eagles Talk Dawk On Radio

On 610-WIP’s Morning Show, former Eagles middle linebacker Jeremiah Trotter said he thinks the Eagles didn’t show Brian Dawkins any respect.

According to Trot, the fact that Dawkins signed so quickly in Denver tells you that the Eagles didn’t really want him.  He says the quick signing means the Eagles made a poor offer.

Trotter says the Eagles don’t treat their players right.  He says he knew Dawkins days were numbered here in Philly when he started hearing reports about Brian losing a step which he believes the Eagles were leaking to the media.

Jeremiah says they were saying things like he’s getting too old and he doesn’t make the plays any more.  He says the Birds were telling people that he can’t make the plays any more against the pass.

Trot says the Eagles don’t have any vocal leaders on the team any more, so they will severely miss Dawkins.

Former Eagles punt and kick returner Brian Mitchell was also on the Morning Show and says the Eagles are too focused on players’ ages.  He blamed it all on Joe Banner and the team’s front office.

He said the Eagles have made a habit of letting people go too early and it’s come back and bit them in big games.

Mitchell says older players know what to do in championship games when everything is on the line.

He said the fans in Washington can’t believe that the Eagles let a player on Dawkins’ level of accomplishments just walk out of town.
