Viincent Upset In Run For Office

Former Eagles cornerback Troy Vincent was thought to be the favorite to become the new Executive Director of the NFLPA, but last night in Hawaii he was upset by Washington, D.C. lawyer DeMaurice Smith.

Vincent had been pummeled in the media for months by leaks which were thought to be coming out of the current NFLPA office.

He had a number of enemies in the current office because it was thought that he would clean house if and when he was elected.

Smith was elected by a vote behind closed doors at the Fairmont Kea Lani resort in Hawaii.

He has worked along side new U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder and has ties to President Barrack Obama.

The players representatives heard from the four candidates; Smith, Vincent, former player Trace Armstrong and attorner David Cornwell, on Saturday and once again Sunday, with the candidates providing their closing arguments before the voting began by secret ballot.
