A source has told ProFootballTalk that the Giants have not heard from Plaxico Burress since the end of the 2008 season.
They are told that Plax hasn't just been quiet, but that he's actually ignored phone calls from the Giants. Several members of the Giants organization said they'd consider taking him back if he changes his ways and isn't, you know, behind bars.
Maybe Plaxico figures there is no way that he's getting out of these charges and he doesn't see a real reason to speak with the team. But knowing what a knucklehead he is, that's probably not the case. He probably thinks he'll get out of it and doesn't feel the need to talk to the people that employ him despite the fact that he's a knucklehead.
He has the Giants in quite a spot should he avoid jail time. They kind of have to take him back because that offense is simply not the same without him as a dominant receiving threat. Because of his size and speed, he can pretty much get open when he wants.
