And the PR nightmares for the Eagles this off-season continue.
First you had the reports of Donovan issuing an ultimatum to the FO to improve the teams' talent. Then it was letting Brian Dawkins hit free agency and ultimately sign with the Broncos. It continued with letting Tra Thomas walk and then have him criticize the Eagles for being too business like in their dealings with players. In between you had fans protesting outside of Lurie's house for the Eagles to make good on the supposed 8 million dollars they owe the city.
We thought the PR mess had finally ended after the firing of Dan Leone over Facebook comments. Wrong.
The PR nightmare for the Eagles FO has just gotten worse. Dan Gross of the Philadelphia Daily News reported yesterday that Bonnie Grant (a breast cancer survivor), a former Eagles spokesperson, is suing the Birds, alleging discrimination regarding her gender and health.
As outsiders we aren't privy to all the information regarding the interactions between Grant and the Eagles so it is difficult to speculate on if the allegations are true, have merit, and if the Eagles are in some serious trouble. But regardless of the outcome, the case is open and the public is again made aware of another PR nightmare for the Front Office.
And folks it's still only March! There is still a draft to possibly screw up. There are still trades, which would certainly improve the team, that the team may not make. Baseball season and hockey playoffs can't get here soon enough for the Eagles…the Eagles aren't doing too well being the center of attention this winter.
